Lilly wept tears on her pillow, wishing that she could no longer feel this pain, feel the agony of her tortured heart. She sobbed quietly, trying to hide her sadness from her parents. She got up and looked at herself in her mirror. Her once bright green eyes were now dim, dark and puffy. Her nose was bright pink and her cheeks were flushed.
“Why do you keep crying?” she asked her reflection, “Smile for me, please…please?!” But her reflection did not smile; it just looked back at her with lonely, sad eyes. She plopped herself on her bed and decided it was best to sleep it all off.
She awoke that morning and dressed for school. Once there, she sat outside Cascade High School, under the Cherry Blossom tree, and closed her eyes. She listened to the gentle wind sway the tree. She felt the pink petals brush her cheeks and opened her eyes. In front of her was a girl with shiny yet dark eyes, almost navy blue. Her dark hair flowed in the wind, dancing with the pink petals.
“Hi,” said the girl.
Lilly blinked, “Hello,” she said quietly. The girl sat down beside her and flashed a warm smile.
“You may not know me but I’m Berrie Akimi. You’re Lilly Bluebell, right? I heard what happened with May Gimli.”
Lilly frowned, “I don’t wanna talk about it.”  Lilly was about to get up and leave but Berrie caught her hand. Lilly looked down and noticed she was wearing a sweater with a dark blue skirt with knee high socks and dress shoes. The skirt was a little too short and made Lilly blush and look away.
“May is a terrible person; I can understand your pain. You were my replacement when she got bored of me.” Lilly stared at her and sat back slowly. They heard the bell ring and got up.
“Can we hang out? I’d like to get to know you more,” Berrie asked. Lilly nodded and the warm smile returned to Berrie’s face. They each waved goodbye at each other and Lilly walked into the building. She looked around and saw many people starring, whispering, and pointing. She felt her heart sink again. She glanced towards May’s locker and saw her standing there. She winked at her, and Lilly felt an unbelievable pain in her stomach. She quickly made for the Lady’s room and into a stall. She knelt by the toilet and tried to calm her stomach down.  She got up and walked to the sink and turned it on. She dipped her hands into the cool water and splashed it on her face. Lilly looked at herself in the mirror.
“Grab a hold of yourself!” Lilly’s reflection cried, “Forget about that stupid whore and move on with your life!”
“How?” Lilly asked.
“This is what you’re gonna do!” Lilly’s reflection began, “First you’re going to get your head straight and get over May! Then you are going to find a new girl, got it?” Lilly looked away from the mirror and smiled to herself.
Yes that’s it, she thought, but who should be my next…Berrie!
After school Lilly waited by the Cherry Blossom tree hoping that Berrie would show up. She waited and waited until finally in the distance she noticed Berrie coming up to greet her.
“Hi, Lilly! I’m so glad we could find time to chat.” Approaching closer Lilly never realized that Berrie had an Asian tinge to her face and she never brought herself to notice the warmth and comfort behind her eyes.
“So, I was thinking, maybe as we talk I can buy you dinner?” Berrie asked. Lilly blushed.
“You know, I’d like that, thank you,” Lilly replied happily.
“Please, the pleasures all mine,” Berrie said, her eyes glance over Lilly’s body.
